I share my impressions and reflexions from these visits here and try to forward appreciation and documentation of the history behind these amazing constructions that represent a small piece of Valencia transplanted here in the architectural traditions of North America.

A few months ago, I fulfilled a dream of visiting Canadian soil for the first time. Since I was young, I was obsessed with the country to the north. Its appreciation for nature and its amazing natural scenery captivated me as a youth. I finally had the opportunity when we attended the wedding of our close friends in Toronto. It was a magical trip. We had the opportunity to visit Union Station, one of the works of Guastavino son, Rafael Guastavino Exposito. Built between 1914 and 1921, the ceiling is readily recognizable as Guastavino architecture. Up close, one can appreciate the great detail of the various layers of tile. Another work that is a testament to the Guastavino mantra of "Palaces for the People", as a place of public transit takes on a grandeur of its own.
